Wait, that “Tonight’s Gonna be a Good Night” song is by THE BLACK EYED PEAS!?!?!??!?!?! I just baseline assumed it was Cobra Starship! WHAT IS GOING ON. This is somehow related to when I found out that the Liz Phair character that you all prattle on about was responsible for this.
You can’t blame Liz for that. Girl was just trying to get paid.

The greatest anti-video of all time. Some of us never actually wanted them to play music on MTV.

Interview with Mark Coatney of Newsweek Magazine's...
mediation:
In case you haven’t seen it, Newsweek magazine has a pretty kick ass tumblr blog.
The work of Newsweek Senior Articles Editor Mark Coatney, the tumblr re-frames Newsweek’s content with a fresh voice on an independent and emerging - and ultimately fun - platform.
Coatney, who posted his motivations for starting a tumblr here, answered some more questions about the site over email.

Really? It Costs $10 Million to Recover Emails?
One line that stands out for me, from the Mother Jones story about the recovery of the missing Bush White House emails:
“The Obama and Bush administrations have already spent over $10 million trying to restore missing emails—significantly more than the $5.2 million that Congress originally appropriated for the task.”
Does anyone think that number is awfully high? That’s 45 cents per every...

I'll Say it Again: Until they Pay Back the AIG...
Now Citigroup says it is paying back all of the bailout money, so they can return to unfettered pillage. Which should not be allowed until they also pay back the $2.3 billion it got in Federal support via AIG.

Deep Capture scraped the FaceBook accounts of a handful of journalists and hedge fund managers and listed all our friends on their website. So far we have no idea what the purpose of the list is.
Now the list has been culled down to exclude random friends and family members. It looks like they are trying to figure out what media folks we might be...

“Irony and cynicism were just what the U.S. hypocrisy of the fifties and sixties called for. That’s what made the early postmodernists great artists. The great thing about irony is that it splits things apart, gets up above them so we can see the flaws and hypocrisies and duplicates. The virtuous always triumph? Yes, But What About the Money that AIG Paid Them? →
BofA says it will repay the entire $45 billion in TARP money it received. That’s good! Except, um, it isn’t all the money that BofA got to stay afloat. Remember, the bank also was one of AIG’s counterparties that got back, at taxpayer expense, 100% of their doomed investments that they had insured through AIG. So when is BofA going to pay that back?
