Stop What You’re Doing And Watch The Hell Out Of This of the Day: Conservative radio host Eric “Mancow” Muller, who claimed on air that waterboarding was not torture, agrees to be waterboarded, thinks he can last 30-60 seconds, lasts 6 seconds, calls it “absolutely torture.”

[via.]

See, this whole “I went through waterboarding thing and oh shit! It actually is torture” is increadibly fucking offensive. Because, God damnit, Chris Hitchens, you were not waterboarded. You went through a training exercise. For you to have actually experienced what these people had been through, you would have had to been snatched from your comfortable bed by 30 guys with automatic weapons screaming incomprehensible things at you, blindfolded and deprived of nearly all sensory input for an ammount of time that you can’t quite fucking figure out, deposited in some strange undisclosed location, routinely abused by your captors and then, at some random moment when you’re wondering what the hell is going on and what you could possibly do to make it stop, then you have 15  gallons of water suddenly shoved down your throat.

Then you’ve been waterboarded.
