High-res today: Journey to Segway inventor’s secret island Called North Dumpling, it has its own constitution, passport stamp, Stonhenge replica and power grid, but it’s right off the coast of Connecticut. It’s the private island of Segway inventor Dean Kamen, whose technology is so advanced that his secret HQ is actually “carbon-negative.” Best part: The government has the Ben and Jerry’s founders serving as co-ministers of Ice Cream. Other minister posts include Brunch and Nepotism. I always wondered how such a brilliant inventor could design (an admittedly kind of amazing) something that so obviously made the rider look like a fool. Now I know.
