High-res derekg: I worked on this for quite sometime before I departed the Times. I am glad to see it make it out the door. It has changed considerably but the green color remains - thanks Pau. Congrats to my former colleagues on getting this done.  Little bit of Hadoop M/R, lots of log data, some great tagged content, plenty of AWS and EMR, toss in some sweet C and libevent for good measure and a sprinkle of K-Means and you have personalized recommendations from NYTimes.com.  I think they might have altered the recipe slightly but still looks pretty good.  Nice work! Congrats! This is very cool, and works really well. Though I’m a little disturbed that “Threats and Threatening Messages” is one of my most-read topics on the TImes…
