inothernews: I would love for members of the media here on Tumblr -- ABC News, NBC News, Newsweek, the Washington Post, the LA Times et al -- to please weigh in on this whole Birther mess and why they will, or will not continue to cover this story as an "issue" now that the President has produced his long-form birth certificate.

We’ve written relatively little about the birther issue for the past year. However, we cover politics, and we are obligated to tell potential voters what potential candidates are talking about.

This, by the way, is one of the great uses of Tumblr for media companies, as a platform for accountability and interaction with your readers. Nice job, LAT.
