I’m pretty sure this strategy is useful in a number of scenarios:

ex) Hit by a taxi crossing the street?

     Listen to Lady Gaga.  There, don’t you feel better?

If it helps, I know for a fact that Lady Gaga reads Newsweek to make herself feel better.
